LORRAINE FREE FINE ART

Artist's Biography      

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and came from a family of professional artists. My siblings and I were exposed to fine and graphic arts from a very young age. My parents always encouraged our creativity as we frequented museums and galleries which exposed us to many different forms of visual art. My interest in drawing and painting began in early childhood and I was enrolled in art classes consistently throughout my childhood and adolescence.

 

In 1984 I received a BFA in painting from the Philadelphia College of Art and later returned to school in 2006 to get my MFA from Rosemont College graduating with distinguished honors.
During the 32 years in my graphic arts career, I was able to continue painting part-time.

I relocated to Pittsburgh in 2016 determined to pursue my art full-time. Here, I have become a teaching artist and a much more prolific painter maintaining a beautiful studio in my home in the Fox Chapel area. Upon request, I do offer professional lessons.
